Summer Internship Program

Upper Seven's summer internship program offers 1L and 2L law students the opportunity to work closely with our attorneys on all aspects of litigation. Interns write first drafts of legal documents, conduct legal research, draft and submit information requests to state government, assist in developing legal strategies, and participate in substantive meetings. Interns also assist with intermittent administrative work, including operational projects related to educational programming.

During the course of the summer, Upper Seven invites between three and five legal, nonprofit, and public interest professionals to meet with the internship cohort for casual lunches. Interns are also invited to participate in one or two team building activities, usually involving a weekend trip to Absarokee, MT, and a float trip near Helena.

Upper Seven is committed to modeling a healthy workplace that balances hard work on a committed team that embraces an entrepreneurial, collaborative, strategic, and creative mindset. We hope for the intern cohort to develop a strong sense of camaraderie, fostering an early career community that leans on each other for encouragement, advice, and motivation.

This position is in Helena, Montana.
